SAS Group signs new catering contract with LSG Sky Chefs
The SAS Group today signed a new catering contract in Scandinavia with LSG Lufthansa Service Holding AG, Parent Company of LSG Sky Chefs. The contract applies to catering supplies for the subsidiaries Scandinavian Airlines Denmark, Scandinavian Airlines Sweden, SAS Braathens and Scandinavian Airlines International’s departures from Copenhagen, Stockholm/Arlanda, Gothenburg, Malmö, Oslo and Bergen.
The contract is effective August 1, 2005 and has a duration of three years, with an option for the SAS Group to extend it for a further two years.
The contract is valued at approximately SEK 700 M per year.
The contract also includes the takeover of Braathens’ catering department by LSG Sky Chefs. The approximately 50 employees from SAS Braathens’ catering operations at Gardermoen have been offered employment with LSG Sky Chefs, with unaltered terms of employment and retained seniority.
SAS selected LSG Sky Chefs after an extensive procurement process, in which various catering solutions were presented and evaluated. An overall assessment of price, quality, delivery reliability and an infrastructure of well-functioning aviation catering facilities in Scandinavia was decisive in selecting the catering supplier.
The contract with LSG Sky Chefs means continuity in catering supplies to the SAS Group in Scandinavia and secures continued high quality and flexibility for the future.
