SAS is Europe’s most punctual airline
SAS Scandinavian Airlines is now the European airline that most often departs on time. This was documented in new statistics from the Association of European Airlines (AEA).
“We have worked conscientiously with punctuality. This is proof that we have succeeded,” says Anders Ehrling, President of SAS Sweden. In October, 89 percent of all flights departed within 15 minutes of the scheduled time. This earned SAS first place among the airlines in the Association of European Airlines (AEA) and was a major improvement from a tenth place in the same month in 2007. Over the entire period from January to October, SAS was ranked in second place, which was also a great improvement over last year’s twelfth place.
“This is a top position that SAS intends to retain. After safety, punctuality is what travelers value most highly in choosing an airline,” says Anders Ehrling.
