SAS’ wine onboard named best in the air
SAS Scandinavian Airlines has been awarded with a coveted Cellars in the Sky award by the prestigious Business Traveller magazine. SAS’ offering, Tim Adams Semillion, 2007, won top honor in the category Best Business Class White Wine.
According to the Business Traveller panel, judges gave the following accolades:
• “Some nice toasty fruit characters. Very sexy. Super wine. Complex, powerful and supple.”
Sam Harrop, Master of Wine and winemaking consultant
• “Biscuity notes. Wheaty, waxy, lemony, fresh. Round palate, nutty. Well made. Serious.”
Joanna Simon, author, wine and food editor for House and Garden magazine and co-founder of the Wine Gang
The world-renowned wine specialist and author Oz Clark has been working with SAS for some 25 years to ensure SAS customers get the best possible wine experience in the air.
“We’ve often used Tim Adams’ wines onboard SAS and the response has always been close to ecstatic. So we’re delighted to offer customers his Semillion – fermented in fine oak barrels and tasting hazel nutty, sprinkled with kitchen spice, as rich as apricot or quince jam, yet dry, and freshened up with lemon zest scent and crisp apple acidity,” says Oz Clarke.
SAS’ wines are carefully selected and served onboard during a six month period, before being replaced. On long-haul routes, Business class travelers can enjoy a selection of two whites, two reds and SAS is one of few airlines to offer a dessert wine. On short-haul routes, Business class and Economy Extra travelers are also offered two whites and two reds. For more information, please contact:
