Swedish pilot strike continues with cancelled flights on Monday
Also on Monday, flights operated by SAS with Swedish pilots will be cancelled due to a continued pilot strike. The Swedish pilot union has turned down a second bid by the mediator, which SAS accepted. Flights, operated with Danish and Norwegian pilots, as well as with our partner airlines, are planned to operate as normal. Passengers are advised to go to flysas.com for more information. On Monday this affects another 230 flights and 27 000 passengers.
The Swedish Pilot Union SPF called 400 members on short haul routes out on strike, effective Friday, June 10. The majority of the flights operated by SAS with Swedish pilots will be cancelled.
“I sincerely apologize to all SAS-customers, Swedish Pilot Union have decided to continue their strike. This affects our passengers and we have done all that’s in our power to avoid a continued strike, but we have unfortunately still been unable to come to an agreement. Our main priority now is to keep taking care of our customers and are working vigilantly to do everything we can to assist passengers affected” says Karin Nyman, Vice President Communications at SAS.
SAS is continuously updating its website with travel information and sending updates by SMS and email to passengers. It is also possible get updates through SAS in social media. SAS recommends that all passengers check the latest travel information before heading to the airport.
